MEET THE EMPOWER PEER EDUCATORS

Introducing…the Empower Peer Educators for the Fall 2007 semester!

Smita Prabhu, Student Manager
Senior
International Studies and Spanish Major

I became an EPE because I feel that the issues that we confront are really helpful to the campus community, and it’s fun!  We get to be creative with our ideas while educating others.  My hobbies and interests include traveling, trying new foods, cooking, hanging out with friends and family.

Megan Abruzzese
Senior
Music Business and Technology Major

I became an EPE because I feel very passionate about the issues we discuss, and I feel it is vital information that the university and the community must know. I also love meeting new people, getting to know them, and educating them on important matters.  I enjoy hanging out with my family and friends, playing and listening to music, reading, running, sports, meeting new people, laugh, and just enjoying life!

Jessica Brenneman
Senior
Psychology Major, Philosophy Minor

I became an EPE to get more involved on campus and to talk about issues that are important to everyone at MU!  I love traveling and meeting new people.  I also enjoy working with kids and families and going to markets.  On Saturdays, I work on an organic farm in exchange for food!

Geena Corradi
Senior
Art Education/Jewelry Major, Psychology Minor

I love being an EPE because I get to work with a great group of people, and I can make a difference on this campus through education! My interests include art, reading, First Fridays, baking, and laughing.

Annmarie Ely
Junior
English Major

I became an EPE because the issues we deal with are really important. Being an EPE gives me a chance to be involved on campus and see my ideas put into action.  In my free time, I like to draw and paint.  I also enjoy back packing, fishing, and hanging out with friends.

Kristin Hess
Junior
History Major

I became an EPE because I wanted to spread awareness of gender issues and other important campus topics to the college community in a way that is comfortable, fun, and informative!  My hobbies and interests include dancing with Expressions Dance Group, hanging out with friends and family, and expanding my horizons.

Shiomara Rodriguez
Senior
Social Work Major

I became an EPE to relay important information to my fellow classmates.  I love being able to inform the university about issues that affect our campus in a fun way. My interests are movies, cooking, music, shopping, hanging out with the girls, dancing, walking on the beach and in parks, and taking pictures.

Blaire Spooner
Senior
Psychology Major, Sociology Minor

I became an EPE because I believe it is a great opportunity to learn more about women’s issues and help educate the campus.  It’s fun and energizing with great co-workers!  I enjoy music, being silly with my friends, aquariums, arts and crafts, psychology, women’s issues, movies, and having fun.
