Peer
Health Educator Job Description
(Applications
for Peer Health Educator are reviewed in the spring. Students
are hired for the following academic year, train during the final
week of summer vacation, and begin working in the fall.)
Peer Health Educators are sophomore, junior, or senior students,
who are hired through a selective process to promote positive
wellness lifestyles on campus through lifestyle workshops and
wellness-related activities. Continuance in the program is dependent
on continuing to meet the high standards of the Peer Health program.
Peer Health Educators are budgeted for four (4) hours of work
per week for both the Fall and Spring semesters, and must meet
the following requirements:
- Maintain
a minimum 2.5 QPA
- Develop
and work toward achieving the goals of a personal wellness plan
- Model
wellness behavior to other students through example

Duties and Responsibilities |
- Attend
the PHE training week (the week before the Fall semester
begins)
- Attend
weekly PHE meetings
- Present
Lifestyle Workshops as requested, in a professional, competent,
well-organized manner that reflects well on the presenter
and the program
- Work
regularly scheduled office hours
- Assist
in campus-wide health promotion events
