File Recovery
Whenever a floppy disk, zip disk, memory stick, or USB external drive goes bad and you need data files recovered, the MU Help Desk at Boyer has data recovery software that may be able to recover the data files. Full recovery is not 100% guaranteed.
- If a hard drive inside a PC goes bad, MU Desktop Support technicians will save data files if the hard drive still spins and is recognized by the PC system.
- If the damage is so severe that the hard drive no longer functions, then it is the individual's responsibility to find a data recovery vendor if they choose to send the hard drive away.
- This will be paid for by either the individual.
- Information Technology does not pay for hard drive data recovery
