WRESTLING TEAM FALLS TO LOCK HAVEN, 19-18

Millersville, Pa. – The Millersville University wrestling team used a pair of decisions by Steve Funk (sr. Perkasie/Pennridge) and Keith McDonald (jr. Red Lion/Red Lion) at the 184 and 197-pound bouts, respectively, to pull ahead of visiting Lock Haven 18-16 with just the heavyweight matchup remaining.   However, Dan Craig, coming off of a fifth place finish at the PSU open, took care of Millersville heavyweight Ray Bennett (fr. Clarks Summit/Abington Heights) by a 6-2 decision to claim the win for the Bald Eagles. 

Millersville fell behind early 9-0 behind a pin at the 125-pound bout and a 10-4 decision by freshman Dale Fava over Millersville’s Mark Stockdill (so. Laporte/Sullivan) at the 133-pound matchup. 

Millersville responded as Cody Becker ( sr. Spring Grove/Spring Grove) earned a 3-2 decision followed by a pin for Jarrett Hostetter (jr. Oxford/Oxford) at the 157-pound bout. 

Lock Haven regained their lead using a decision at 165 and a major decision by junior Tom Kocher over John Heleniak (jr. Conshohocken/Plymouth-Whitemarsh), 10-2, at the 174-pound bout that set up the final three bouts.

Millersville falls to 0-3 in dual meets this season with the loss.  They will travel to Clarion, Pa. this weekend for the PSAC Championships.
