MILLERSVILLE WRESTLING WINS SECOND MEET IN A ROW AS THEY KNOCK OFF FRANKLIN & MARSHALL, 31-16

Feb. 22 – The Millersville University wrestling team picked up their second straight victory as they knocked off host Franklin & Marshall College, 31-16, on Friday night.

The Marauders (5-11-1) won seven of ten matches and saw Jarrett Hostetter (jr. Oxford/Oxford) win his 18th consecutive match with a major decision over Anthony Bongarzone, 15-3.

Other winners for the Marauders included John Andel (jr. Red Lion/Red Lion), Mike Greck (fr. Nazareth/Nazareth), Cody Becker (sr. Spring Grove/Spring Grove), Dave Morey (fr. Glen Mills/Garnett Valley), Steve Funk (sr. Perkasie/Pennridge) and Raymond Bennett (fr. Clarks Summitt/Abington Heights).

Big winners for Millersville came at the 141 and 149-pound match-ups when Greck and Becker used pins to give the Marauders a lead they would never relinquish.  Greck took care of F&M’s Akio Aida in 4:36, while Becker pinned Al Gianforti in 1:24.

Millersville will hit the mats again Sunday, March 9, at the NCAA Regionals which will be held in Lynchburg, Va with the starting time to be announced in the coming days.
