Mission Statement
The mission of the AATG is based on the
belief that bringing the language, literatures and cultures of the
German-speaking world to all Americans is a vital humanistic endeavor
which serves an essential national interest. It's the only national
individual membership organization dedicated to the advancement and
improvement of the language, literature, and culture of the
German-speaking countries.
With over 6,500 members, the AATG is for teachers of German at all
levels of instruction and all those interested in the teaching of
German. |

UWE KIND is coming to McCaskey High School for his third concert here on December 11, 2008.
This will be a morning concert as in the past.
Once again, Erika Miller and the JPMcCaskey German Club is inviting
all German teachers and students in the Central PA. Chapter, to join
the fun.
More info will be forthcoming at the start of September, so save the date.
The proceeds from this concert are donated to one of our local
homeless shelters, usually Milagro House or Clare House.
Should you have questions or already want to reserve seats for you
and your German students, just send an e-mail to the Dr. Kutch.
The cost will be 6$ per student, a little more than previously, but Uwe's
price has also gone up.

Spring Meeting for All Members
Where: Lebanon
Valley College
When: Saturday March 8, 2008
The meeting will be
held in conjunction with the PA AATG Immersion Weekend at
Lebanon Valley College the evening of March 7, and there is a
morning and an afternoon session on Saturday March 8,
2008. Look for registration materials in the mail in
spring 2008, or email our webmaster if you think you've been
overlooked.

2008's Spring Meeting Theme:
Islam im
deutschsprachigen Raum by speaker Mohamed Esa is the
Friday evening theme if you attend the entire PA AATG Immersion
Weekend at Lebanon Valley College. Saturday's morning
conference theme is Musik
im Deutschunterricht, and the Saturday afternoon theme
is Muskivideos selbst
gemacht.

Susanne Nimmrichter receives PSMLA 2007 award for the outstanding teacher of
German at the university/college level for her work with PSMLA and the promotion
of the German language throughout the state.
