Gen Ed Curriculum Documents (3/7/08) . The Senate has approved documents for faculty to submit requests to recertify W (Writing Intensive) courses, to request a D (Cultural Diversity & Community) course designation, and to propose an FYI Seminar. Gen Ed Reform. The Gen Ed Review Committee presented its final proposal on Gen Ed reform to a special meeting of Faculty Senate on January 30, 2007. Faculty Senate and GERC continued working on finalizing revisions to the Gen Ed program resulting in the revised proposal which was shared with Senate on March 7, 2007 (link below). A faculty-wide referendum on the new proposed Gen Ed curriculum passed by nearly a two-thirds majority on April 25, 2007. The new curriculum will be implemented for incoming students in fall 2008.
