
Eligibility for academic accommodations and related services for students with learning disabilities are coordinated by the Director and staff of the Office of Learning Services. Initial screening assessment for students who would like to determine if a learning disability exists should make an appointment. Students are made eligible for services on an individualized basis. Services may include but are not limited to academic accommodations, auxiliary aids, housing, etc. such as the following:
Distraction-free testing
Extended testing time
Out of class testing
Note-takers
Assistive technology
Recorded lectures
Air conditioned housing
Academic skills assistance is provided to students with learning disabilities. Areas of assistance include: organizational and time management skills, study skills, reading comprehension, and writing interventions. Workshops are also provided in these areas.
