The Program

The recycling staff aims to provide every member of the Millersville University community clean, convenient and user-friendly facilities. Materials currently recycled as part of the Millersville University Recycling Program include: (weight of each item collected last year)
  1. corrugated cardboard (80.3 tons)
  2. mixed office paper (96.7 tons)
  3. commingled cans and bottles (63.3 tons)
  4. low grade paper (newspaper, magazines and phone books) (16.5 tons)
  5. scrap metals (32.6 tons)
  6. batteries (automotive and otherwise)
  7. automotive products (used oil, anti-freeze, etc.)
  8. wood waste
Some ot the things we DO NOT recycle:
  1. Plastic bags, wrapping, and film plastic in general
  2. styrofoam (except styrofoam peanuts in significant quantity)
  3. food and putrescent waste
  4. toys, appliances, lamps, laundry baskets, waste cans, etc. made primarily of plastic or glass
  5. plate glass (e.g. windows and mirrors)
  6. light bulbs
