An opportunity for students and family members to see some of the services and offices available to students.
12:00 noon – 4:00 p.m. Placement Testing
Students who did not take placement tests during the spring or summer must take placement tests today.

Parents and Family Programs

The President, Dr. Francine McNairy, and the Vice President for Student Affairs will welcome new students and their family to Millersville University.

Commuting students will meet at the Lehr Dining Room for a social event

Get together with your Orientation Leader, and find out all about Orientation Week!
9:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. First Residence Hall Meeting
Meet your Resident Assistant and the other staff in the building. Learn the ropes about living in a residence hall.

Students will discuss with their orientation leaders, faculty, staff and administration the book, “The Color of Water” by James McBride. Consider the Common Reading Program an introduction to academic life at Millersville University.

All students will meet with the Trainers and talk about the different issues that may come up while they are a MU Student.
9:45 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Common Reading – Groups 30 - 57

10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Road Trip – Away Game ~ A Tour of Lancaster
Learn what there is to do in and around Lancaster. Learn how the bus system works. Your trainers will take you around town and you will get to meet local business and learn what Lancaster has to offer.
12:00 noon – 2:00 p.m. Lunch
2:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Games on the Quad>br /> Unwind after a busy week with your new friends and come out and participate in some fun games sponsored by the Campus Recreation and Intramural Staff.

Come out for some bacon, eggs, french toast and more! This event happens every Saturday during the academic year.

Learn about the various faith based groups on campus. Everyone is welcome.
5:30 p.m. – 7:15 p.m. Training Session #6
This final session is the last time your group will meet together during orientation. Teams will process the past week and learn how to keep in touch with their trainers once the semester has started.
7:30 p.m. New Student Convocation
A welcome from Provost, Dr. Vilas Prahbu, and Student Senate President, Meghan Terenzoni, will kick off this event. This is the first time you are officially welcomed as the Class of 2011. This event will conclude with a candle lighting ceremony at the pond.
