Eligibility Criteria for Sigma Theta Tau International

  Undergraduate students must:
  1. Have completed 1/2 of the nursing curriculum;
  2. Have at least a GPA of 3.0 (based on a 4.0 grading scale);
  3. Rank in the upper 35 percentile of graduating class.
  4. meet the expectation of academic integrity.

RN students must:
  1. Have completed 12 credit hours at current school;
  2. Have completed 1/2 of the nursing curriculum;
  3. Have at least a GPA of 3.0 (based on a 4.0 grading scale);
  4. Rank in the upper 35 percentile of graduating class.
  5. meet the expectation of academic integrity.

Graduate students must:
  1. Have completed 1/4 of the nursing curriculum;
  2. Have at least a GPA of 3.5 (based on a 4.0 grading scale).
  3. meet the expectation of academic integrity.

Nursing Professionals/Community Leaders must:
  1. Be a registered nurse;
  2. Hold at least a baccalaureate degree in nursing or other field;
  3. Have held a professional nursing license for at least five years;
  4. Have demonstrated marked achievement in nursing education, practice, research, administration or publication.

To be considered for membership under the Exception rule, students:
  1. may have a cumulative GPA below 3.0 or a GPA that is below the upper 35%;
  2. shall have a nursing major GPA of 3.0 or higher;
  3. shall otherwise meet the criteria for membership (1/2 of the nursing curriculum completed, expectation of academic integrity)
